Algarve

If you are looking for a family beach holiday, or just to soak up some sunshine with friends or loved ones, you won’t be disappointed with what the Algarve has to offer.

Located in the southernmost part of the country with 150km of coastline all washed by the rolling waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Its rocky inlets with hidden coves and beautifully formed beaches are a haven for beach lovers and surfers alike. The year-round sunshine makes this area popular with golfers who can pick from over 50 high quality golf resorts in the region. Excellent food, drink and night life can also be found in Albufeira whilst those looking for a quieter life can pick from one of the many sleepy fishing villages such as Olhos d’Agua or Alvor.

Lisbon

The capital city of Portugal is one of Europe’s most historic natural harbours. Lisbon is famous for being the home of some of the great explorers of the Atlantic.

For a unique way to tour Lisbon hop on board a vintage streetcar on the Lisbon Tramway which trundles up and down the 7 hills of the city, allowing you to take in much of the old-world charm and colourful buildings. Built in the 1500’s the Belem Tower is one of the most iconic sights in Lisbon, nearby you can find one of the city’s most famous bakeries where you can enjoy some signature Portuguese pastries including the Pasteis de Belem and Pasteis de Nata.

Douro River

The age-old banks of the Douro river remain as enchanting as ever with lush terraces growing olives, grapes and almonds much as they have for centuries. This picturesque river valley meanders through medieval walled villages and vineyards where fine wine and port are produced.

A Douro River Cruise is the ideal way to explore this beautiful area and its history at a relaxed pace that enables you to imagine that you are in a time gone by.

Madeira

This lush green autonomous island region of Portugal is a picture of vibrant colours; from its deep forest hues to the bright Red Passion Flowers that pepper the hills, all set against a bright azure blue backdrop of never-ending ocean.

Madeira is a nature lover’s paradise and there are plenty of hiking trails and outdoor activities to keep you entertained during your stay. With a lovely subtropical climate, verdant countryside and a great choice of outdoor pursuits including golfing, surfing and scuba diving, we couldn’t think of anywhere better for families, groups or couples to jet off to this summer…
